It belongs to a group of dinosaurs known as hadrosaurs or duck-billed dinosaurs. The crest of Olorotitan was composed of solid bone and likely played a role in communication and species recognition. The exact function of the crest, whether it was used for display, sound production, or other purposes, is still a subject of scientific investigation. Like other hadrosaurs, Olorotitan had a beak-like snout and a wide mouth filled with hundreds of teeth. Its teeth were arranged in dental batteries, which allowed it to efficiently grind plant material. This suggests that Olorotitan was an herbivorous dinosaur that fed on a variety of vegetation, including leaves, fruits, and other plant parts.
