Humans use clay pots of various sizes, typically spherical in shape. The earth is fired at high temperatures between 1000°C and 1100°C. Clay pots are associated with traditional cooking methods in modern gastronomy, often used for slow-cooking food, usually stews. In some areas of Iberia or Andalusia, it's also called a marmita (always made from ceramic).
