Impressed Jar from Oldtown Smoothened Out Netting Found in Stokes County, North Carolina The Impressed Jar is a stunning example of Late Woodland ceramics, discovered at the Hairston site (31Sk1) in Stokes County, North Carolina. Dating back to the period between AD 1500 and 1600, this ceramic masterpiece measures 20.3 cm in height and 19.3 cm in diameter. The Impressed Jar is carefully cataloged as no. 2342a2426 within the North Carolina Archaeological Collection, housed at the Research Laboratories of Archaeology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
