Oldhams coupling

Two rectangular slots are cut into two flanges, each mounted on a separate shaft. One slot is positioned at right angles to the other, with one flange attached to one shaft and the second flange attached to the other. To form the coupling, a circular disc with two rectangular projections is placed between the flanges. The central disc, while rotating, slides into the slots of both flanges during motion. As it turns, power transmission occurs between the two shafts due to the secure connection between the central disc and the flanges.
