Old Water Pump with movable handle

Old Water Pump with movable handle

This water pump was designed specifically for a Sylvanian Families scene but could also add a charming touch to a flower pot arrangement or scale diorama. Both the smaller "fat" version and the more slender original have been printed, giving users a choice of style. Each model comes in two versions: one with a bottom stick and one without. The pump is made up of three separate parts: the pump itself, the handle, and the pin that connects them. This allows for smooth movement of the handle up and down. The pin is constructed from 1.75 mm filament, providing added strength compared to printing a single piece. A toothpick could also be used as an alternative, but the hole may need to be slightly widened. Initially, I created this model with Sylvanian Families in mind, but it turned out to be too large for its intended use. However, I liked the more slender design and decided to include it as a larger option. The Sylvanian version is built to withstand kids' play, offering a sturdy structure that can handle rough handling. If you plan to print this model for your children, I recommend using a high infill percentage to ensure the parts holding the handle remain intact. Otherwise, they may break off after some time. When printing the water pump as a decoration, consider adding a stick from the handle down into the pump to create a more realistic effect. I omitted this feature in the model because it wouldn't be sturdy enough for kids' play and would likely require the handle to be stuck in one place, reducing its fun factor.
