[OLD VERSION] Sopranino folk whistle

thingiverse

The tiny folk whistle is tuned to G and measures 225mm in height, printable in two sections with a maximum height of 134mm or potentially four sections at 74mm each, requiring overlapping joint holes. Its generously sized holes enable techniques like sliding, cutting, and tapping for expressive play. To avoid discomfort, play it outdoors and use fingering chart (http://www.logarithmic.net/pfh-files/design/folk-flute-and-whistle-fingering.pdf). Joints require a tight seal, achievable with 0.35mm clearance and blue teflon plumbing tape. Tiny holes may cause sound issues, so ensure proper sizing. Alternatively, woodworking and gluing can create the instrument; contact for details. The design is expected to be refined as it may not be perfectly A440 tuned and could benefit from further whistle shape improvements. It was created using "demakein" software (http://www.logarithmic.net/pfh/design).
