In the 1940s, a vintage telephone was transformed into an elegant lamp; this very design reminded the narrator of their childhood, when their grandfather owned a similar lamp. A neighbor, Charlie, who worked at the phone company, had gifted it to him. Unfortunately, due to the lamp's construction, it is no longer operational as a phone.
