Old Oaken Bucket - Scan Data
sketchfab
The historic well bucket, a sturdy oak and bronze masterpiece, has been traveling the country for decades as a coveted football trophy between two bitter rivals: the Indiana Hoosiers and the Purdue Boilermakers. The prestigious award was first introduced in 1925 and has been renewed every year since then, with one notable exception - a single year of peace in 1903. Carefully crafted using state-of-the-art technology, this exact replica of the Old Oaken Bucket was created by digitizing it with Creaform's high-tech GoScan!50 structured light scanner. The initial results were processed using proprietary software VXScan, providing an impressive display of the device's capabilities and limitations before further enhancements. The IU CyberDH Team took a different approach, utilizing photogrammetry techniques to capture the bucket in exquisite detail.
