Redesign of the "Face Shield Big Remix by ICU nurse" is a modified version of the Prusa face shield, designed to meet the needs of frontline healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. This design was created in response to a request from BlackDogCarbonFiber, an ICU nurse who needed a more practical and efficient way to produce face shields. The resulting design, "Face Shield Big Remix," has been optimized for 3D printing with a 0.4mm nozzle at a layer height of 0.3mm. The design features two 1-inch wide rubber tourniquets that secure the shield to the wearer's head, ensuring a snug and comfortable fit. A plastic sheet measuring 12 inches wide and 9.5 inches tall is used for the face shield, providing adequate protection from airborne pathogens. To make the design more user-friendly, a base plate has been included to ensure all prints are identical and to prevent an uncomfortable edge at the bottom of the shield. The Z-axis can be adjusted by 4.5mm to accommodate stacking and minimize gaps between layers. The design includes files for single prints, stacks up to six, and layer-only prints. Higher stacked files will be uploaded as they become available, along with a single layer file for adding to existing stacks. However, users must ensure a 0.3mm gap between each shield when using this option. While the design has not been tested or certified for medical use, it is intended for experimental purposes only.
