In his work, Konenkov brings to life vivid images of traditional Russian fairy tales, epics, and peasant folklore. Characters like "Old Man", "Lesovich", "Stribog", "Eruslan Lazarevich", and the "Firebird" spring forth from the rich cultural heritage of Russia's folk masters. Konenkov skillfully revives this native material in his Russian sculpture, showcasing its intricate decorative features. Alongside these works, he creates sculptures inspired by ancient civilizations, compositions celebrating music ("Bach", "Paganini"), and monumental decorative panels. Following the October Revolution, Konenkov actively participates in implementing Lenin's plan for massive propaganda efforts through monumental art. He crafts a memorial plaque honoring those who fought for global peace and unity (1918), meant for display on the Kremlin wall, now housed at the Russian Museum. During its unveiling ceremony, Lenin delivers a powerful speech.
