Check out a completely reworked design for an X-belt tensioner here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3229130 I've created a remix of mdmiko's original design after running into several complications with it. The original design assumes that the pulley is in line or should be in line with the two holes on the right side of the pulley enclosure, which isn't always the case and results in a diagonal x-belt leading to non-uniform xsteps/unit along the axis. Moreover, complete disassembly of the pulley enclosure was necessary to install the original design, but that's no longer required. With one hole or the bottom of the pulley enclosure, it's now possible to undo the pulley screw with a pair of pliers and install the rest of the assembly without disassembling the pulley enclosure. Despite this improvement, some flaws from the original design remain present. It's still necessary to drill a hole into the wall of the pulley enclosure and shorten the belt before installation because the entire assembly is too bulky to use the room in the enclosure efficiently. For anyone who has already drilled a hole or installed the original but isn't happy with the diagonal alignment, this remix should alleviate some concerns. However, it remains a temporary fix for the original flaws. Note that I'm still in the process of installing this remixed design myself and will follow up with images once it's successfully completed.
