Small stone discovered on privately owned farmland southeast of Wallington, Northumberland. First documented during NADRAP surveys this stone was added to the ERA database as "Old Deanham i" in 2008 with the following details: "A small cobblestone that had fallen from a medieval field wall bears a single large cup on its upper surface. The cup is roughly carved, and the sides appear slightly grooved in some areas. The cobblestone has noticeably angular sides indicating possible preparation before carving or may have resulted from use as part of the wall. It lies close to the wall and has clearly been a part of it. Several other similar cobbles have been found on this wall, some with more complex decoration. The wall was likely constructed from local cairn or field clearance residue." ERA record: https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=795 This model was created using 5 images taken by Joe Gibson during NADRAP recording in February 2008. The imagery is part of the NADRAP / ERA archive.
