The Sorells Palace marks a distinct rural estate example from medieval times. It boasts a rectangular tower design on the corners and a central courtyard featuring various lounges and four additional buildings. Surrounded by an expansive side yard except for a fear of approaching da plaza. The fortified mansion's appearance is defined by numerous loopholes placed throughout its original two levels. The building measures 22 meters in length by 13 meters high, with towers reaching up to 18 meters. Located near the Alacuas Palace, it stands as the most significant rural manor building in the huerta valenciana region. Throughout history, Sorells Castle has served as the primary residence for the Lords of Albalat. In fact, it's the largest private medieval estate in Valencia's garden district. Aesthetically, the courtyard is adorned with stunning Gothic arches, a stately staircase, and intricately designed mullioned windows along the north wall. The ground floor features a spacious entranceway arch as well. Sorells Castle dates back to the Arab era, when it was one of many orchards in the Valencia garden. Following the Battle of Carraixet in 1238, Albalat fell into Christian hands and played a crucial role in the conquest of Valencia. Alongside other successful farms like El Palau, Albalat secured its place within the Valencian agricultural landscape during this period.
