OLD - Base for Mostly Printed 3D Printer MP3DP
thingiverse
I'm thrilled with my MP3DP. The Mostly Printed 3D printer is quite sturdy now that I've added a robust base, which keeps the corners firmly in place. This has made the XY plane incredibly square. I utilized the original STL and dxf files to design this upgrade. I cut it using my MPCNC, which has been performing admirably. My base was crafted from 3/4 inch "red oak" plywood. I carefully cut the relief for the four corners and two side plastic pieces at a depth of 3mm. If you'd like to cut this with EstlCAM, then use the "Exploded" version. If you prefer to edit it in a CAD program, use the normal one.
