OIT - Thornycroft PB-type (1-148)

Continuing the “origin of containerization”-theme in n-scale, I upload here my Thornycroft PB-type lorry model, as it was used by British railroads to deliver their Road-Rail containers from/to freight yards in the time between WW1 and WW2. As usually that time Thornycroft delivered only the chassis to the railways and they added cab and body in their own workshops, as per their needs. This is the reason, why you can find an endless number of variations of bodies and cabs for a single type of truck.

From many pictures (see list of sources below) I noticed a certain development of the driver’s cabin. I categorized them basically as early, mid and late cab, resulting in three versions of my model.
Wheels are solid ones for early and mid-version and pneumatic-tyred ones for late version. Forward wheels can be selected straight or turning left/right.
The driver figure is for all versions. Co-driver figures are adapted for each version, where the early-version would fit in all cases.
Any platform-body fits to any chassis.

All models sized for British n-scale (1:148). Conversion values:
Continental N-scale, 1:160 -> 92.5%
TT-gauge, 1:120 -> 123%
H0/HO-gauge, 1:87 -> 170%
00/OO-gauge, 1:76 -> 195%

Sources for modelling:
[1] P.J.
