Oil Furnace Electrode Spacer / Gauge

All oil furnaces or burners used to heat a house rely on two electrodes that spark to ignite the fuel. The precise spacing between these electrodes is critical for optimal performance, but most commercially available electrodes require identical settings. I developed this tool based on a product I found online, which enables quick and accurate adjustments of electrode spacing without resorting to tape measures or calipers. This allows users to set their furnace up with precision. The standard specifications that this device has been configured to meet (and should apply to most furnaces, though please verify your specific model's requirements) are: 1. Electrode distance: 1/8 inch 2. Electrode position forward of the nozzle: 1/8 inch 3. Height above the center of the nozzle: 1/2 inch Once printed, the tool is inserted into the burn chamber and aligned with the two electrode seats. An image search for "Oil Burner Electrode Gauge" will yield pictures of similar devices in use.
