Oil Free Bushing holders for Lulzbot Taz
thingiverse
Due to the loose nature of IGUS Bearings, Misumi was contacted for a solution. The suggested product works superbly and is quiet in operation. The bushing designed for this setup is SHBZ10-25 from Misumi. Interestingly, it also fits well with AAM1014-2 from Oilite, which are cheaper at around $1 each and produce less noise compared to Misumi bearings. To install these, use a vise or pliers as they have a tight fit. However, the printer is currently awaiting new parts for testing. If anyone prints this design and tests it, please share your experience along with any possible modifications needed for this file. The bearings should be snugly fitted in the holder. An update has been made to the single bearing holder, eliminating the need for support. Additionally, both bearing holders have been split at the top, allowing for slight movement and ease of alignment - a request from ross_badger on the Lulzbot Taz forums. To install the bushing, there are several methods: spinning it in the holder using a lathe/drill (Method 1), heating it up with a soldering iron and then pushing it into place (Method 2), or drilling out the inside diameter slightly before gluing it in place (Untested Method). For ease and efficiency, it is recommended to use Method 2. Also, be cautious not to use a lighter to heat the bushing as it may burn the oil out of the brass.
