Oil Filter Removal Tool, No Mess
thingiverse
Description Fits 65.5mm 14 flute oil filters. This tool helps you remove oil filters by diverting excess oil through channels and out the bottom. It's perfect for vertically mounted oil filters like mine. Removing my filter used to be a mess because oil would run down the side, making it hard to hold and unscrew. This tool has built-in channels that reduce spills. Other great features include: The flow channels provide extra grip when removing the filter. A funnel hole at the bottom fits a 1/2 ratchet wrench, perfect for stuck filters. Just remember to remove the wrench after loosening the filter since it will block the drain hole. The tool acts as a general funnel and fits inside a quart or gallon oil container. This keeps the tool stable while pouring old oil back in. Note that the size of the container opening varies between brands, so it might not fit all containers. UPDATE 11/28/2015: I made some changes to the design based on feedback from using this removal tool. The new version is called "oil_filter_drain_V02.STL" and includes improvements like a 45-degree funnel slope angle and thicker bottom channels. These updates reduce oil leaks around the drain hole. UPDATE 11/29/2016: I created a smaller version that fits 63.5 mm (2.5 inch) filters, perfect for some MicroGuard or Wix filters. This new design has not been tested yet, but it's ready for your next oil change. Print Settings Printer: Custom built "PrintrMatic" Resolution: 0.2 - 0.25 Infill: 75-100% Rafts: No Supports: No
