Oil Drain Pan Plug
thingiverse
I've maintained my own vehicles for over two and a half decades now, with every single oil change personally handled by me. I've never taken my cars or trucks to a shop for an oil change, ATF change, or coolant change - that's just not something I do. I take pride in taking care of my vehicles myself. The drain pan I've been using for over twenty years has seen its fair share of fluids, with all of it recycled properly, and it's still going strong despite the sad shape the threaded plugs are in. When I saw Prefab's "OIL DRAIN PAN REPLACEMENT PARTS" (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1554884), I was excited to finally have a set of replacement plugs for my drain pan. Unfortunately, they didn't fit my pan. Then I came across scottandpamela's "Oil Pan Drain Plug" (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3710911) and while the conical part matched, the threads didn't. Since scottandpamela mentioned using Tinkercad, I decided to check it out and see if I could create threads that would match my drain pan. After a bit of fiddling around, I was able to graft scottandpamela's conical piece onto my new threads and voila - success! Check out the pictures for yourself. If you have a drain pan that looks like mine, this plug might just work for you too. For me, it took three tries but it finally worked out.
