Oil Cooler Intakes for CARF F4U Corsair

This oil cooler intake fin set replaces the basic kit-supplied oil cooler, which looks substandard compared to the rest of the kit. After making three kits and fitting one to the center wing section, as seen in the photos, I can attest that this upgrade makes a significant difference in the overall appearance and finish of the plane. The 3D look of the oil coolers in the wing section was a major part of the plane's design. Print Settings: Printer Brand: Up! Printer: Up Plus Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: .15 to .20 Notes: Print with the fins vertical for best results and less support material to remove. Design Details: I designed this oil cooler specifically for the CARF (Composite Almost Ready To Fly) F4U Corsair. It is sized and designed to fit seamlessly into the wing opening, requiring minimal modification. A ply backing can be created to seal the back of the oil cooler, preventing air flow into the wing cavity during flight. As seen in the photos, this design was tested on a Corsair at Warbirds Over Mundijong in Perth, Western Australia. The plane still features the original manufacturer-supplied oil coolers.
