This meticulously constructed model is nearly to scale, complete with all textures and materials. It features animateable propeller, opening launch tube hatches, retractable periscopes, antenna, handrails, and torpedo tube doors that can be opened. For re-designated SSGN boats, seven smaller launch tubes have been installed into each missile silo with individual sub hatches covering the interior launch tube. Originally developed for the US Navy during the Cold War, the Ohio Class submarines were initially outfitted with Trident I missiles then upgraded to Trident II missiles. Despite plans for retirement in 2002, these original four boats - USS Ohio, Michigan, Georgia, and Florida - were reassigned and refitted as non-nuclear guided missile launch platforms, equipped with seven Tomahawk Cruise missiles per 22 launch tubes, along with Navy Seal gear and vessels.
