The intricately detailed model, built almost to scale, comes complete with all textures and materials. It features an animatable propeller, opening launch tube hatches, retractable periscopes, antenna, handrails, and torpedo tube doors that can be opened. For the SSGN boats, 7 smaller launch tubes are installed in each missile silo with individual sub hatches covering the interior launch tube. The Ohio Class submarines were developed for the US Navy during the cold war; initially equipped with Trident I missiles then upgraded to Trident II missiles. Originally scheduled for retirement in 2002, the first four boats - USS Ohio, Michigan, Georgia, and Florida - underwent redesignation and refitting as non-nuclear guided missile launch platforms. Each of the 22 launch tubes now carries 7 Tomahawk Cruise missiles, along with Navy Seal equipment and boats.
