Ohio Class Submarine
thingiverse
An Ohio Class submarine replica. I spent several years on the Georgia and now work in product design, which led me to create this model as no excellent ones existed. Some assembly required. To print the propellers, you'll need to print additional planes, cut them out, and glue them onto the sub. I printed the submarine out of Black ABS and then the dry dock platform out of Wood Filled PLA. MEK held the ABS parts securely together. The holes in the dry dock are for .25" x .25" neodymium magnets. The hollow hull allows you to fill it with a ferrous material (I used small nuts threaded onto a small screw, I believe they were 6/32... or maybe smaller). This keeps the sub firmly on the platform. The orientation of the STLs isn't ideal for printing.
