Offset Motor Mount (RigidBot)
cults3d
Stepper Motor Mount for RigidBot Upgrades. The upgraded motor mount incorporates several key changes to the original RigidBot design: 1 - It is offset by 6mm to align with the idler bearing when paired with a 16-tooth pulley. 2 - M4x25 socket cap screws and M4 nuts are used, as the motor mount threads on my RigidBot were stripped. 3 - Two gaskets made from NinjaFlex and/or Polyflex provide sound dampening. A flat gasket is 1mm thick, but its thickness can be adjusted according to preference. The part must be mirrored for use on the Y-axis. Photos show a black gasket printed in PolyFlex on the left and a red gasket printed in NinjaFlex on the right. edit: An alternative version of the mount without flexible parts was added, designed for use with Astrosyn dampers. This version is printed in Taulman Bridge nylon but should work with other materials as well. It requires support material to print. edit 2: Due to the Astrosyn dampers tilting under tension more than desired, a new mount design was created by merging elements from the first two versions (version 3).
