Office Chair Joystick / HOTAS holder, partly removable
thingiverse
Hi everyone, I recently came across a great video on YouTube featuring a clever gentleman who found an affordable way to attach a joystick to his office chair. I'd like to share my own take on this concept, which allows you to easily remove your controller and use the chair without any hassle. All you need is some sort of base for your stick, which can be made from perspex or wood, depending on your preference. You'll also require a metal flat bar, which I purchased from Jewsons (UK) for around £6. This bar can be cut to size and used as a wall restraint strap or wall plate. To assemble the project: Loosen the screws under your office chair and insert the metal rods. Once you've achieved the desired length, tighten everything securely. Print the Bar safety cover and Bar cover. The Bar safety cover serves as a housing for the metalwork, while the Safety cover glues on top of it, covering the metalwork and creating a lip around it for the Mount slider. Attach your preferred screw to the 'To perspex' print and glue that to the mount slider. For the throttle: Pop some inner tube into your bracket for grip and secure with 4M 40mm screws. Print with support. The 'shelf' bit rotates, allowing it to fit various mounting angles. Simply insert some 3mm machine screws or glue it in place. That's it! I hope you enjoy this project. If you think it's worth sharing, please consider tipping me. This will help me purchase more PLA and continue experimenting with new designs, which will, in turn, persuade my wife that all this is worthwhile. Thanks for your feedback and suggestions!
