The Breaktime Kit is a revolutionary toolkit designed to transform idle time into a productive break that elevates work performance right after. It empowers you to organize social activities, contributing to team building when permitted and feasible in your organization. You can also encourage trading and competition: Who can come up with a new toy, engine, or exhibit? Design a sliding game by using whiteboard markers on your desk! Additionally, squezzy elements help prevent wrist tendinitis. According to traditional management literature, many people "spend time inappropriately" at work daily. Browsing the Internet, either on company computers or personal cell phones, is a common habit. Others argue that workers need breaktime. In today's tech-intensive environments, idling on the Internet (e.g., worrying about Facebook status, new job opportunities) is not an ideal use of breaktime. Breaktime should be used for activities that are relaxing, fun, and physically engaging. Idle time should clear the mind, not clog it! The Breaktime Kit consists of 6 versatile elements that can be combined to create various objects: - A half sphere with a hole, which can sit upside down - An asymmetric wheel, serving as support for a ball - A beam with 4 + 3 holes, ideal for constructing engines - A short stick rounded on one side, used for gluing, tipping, and handling - A long stick rounded on one side, perfect for gluing and as a tip/handle - A long stick that is thinner in the middle, serving as an axle for wheels From these 6 elements, coworkers can assemble devices like spinning tops, table curling stones, bowling balls and pins, yoyos, wheels of fortune, racing cars, and more. Alternatively, they could create stunning works of art (e.g., a black apple sandwich with a raspberry filling). This kit is suitable for kids old enough to stop swallowing little sticks. The idea for creating this set came to me by "accident" while playing with Arnitel (a very strong flexible filament) that I bought 2 years ago but had forgotten about. After reading more information on Arnitel at http://edutechwiki.unige.ch/en/Arnitel, I started experimenting with creating a squeezy half sphere and then wanted to make something that would allow playing with it. Since I also teach some 3D printing, I came up with the challenge of creating a minimalist (but hopefully successful) construction kit that would enable me to create cool little devices from just a few elements. Once I was done, I remembered that as a kid I played with "Matador" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matador_(toy)).
