Of Course I Still Love You (SpaceX's ASPDS)
thingiverse
Last night, SpaceX successfully landed their second rocket on a drone ship around 2 AM Eastern time on May 6th. If you're not into rockets, it's natural to wonder what makes this second landing so significant, especially since the first one often gets all the attention. But this second landing was no small feat - it occurred after deploying JCSAT-14 into a Geostationary Transfer Orbit (GTO). In contrast, their previous drone ship landing happened after delivering vital supplies to the ISS in Low Earth Orbit (LEO). Reaching GTO requires more fuel than reaching LEO, leaving this rocket with significantly less fuel for landing. As a result, it plummeted towards the ocean at twice the speed of the previous landing, an incredible sight that left me in awe. That's why I decided to build the drone ship that caught this impressive feat - and I named it "Of Course I Still Love You" to commemorate the moment.
