Skyshield Air-defence system, a lightweight SHORAD system by Rheinmetall (previously Oerlikon Contraves), succeeds Skyguard defense. Designed for rapid destruction of aircraft and missiles plus C-RAM functionality, the modular setup includes 35mm revolver cannons with 1k RPM, a sensor unit & detached command post. Up to two surface-to-air missile modules boost air defense capacity. Transportable via trucks, it uses an X-band radar for tracking and can link with other systems for broader coverage from point to area defense.
