Odete - Table Joint
thingiverse
Odete is part of a collection of connectors that can combine various household waste types to create unique furniture pieces. It utilizes bottles and boards to design an unlimited variety of original tables. Rendering 4 stereolithographic files, one for each piece alone and one with a complete joint together, will take approximately 15 minutes. When printing, you'll need at least four Odetes placed on each corner of the board used. Have fun building and help us gather your feedback by sending it to our profile! Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 Rafts: No Supports: No Notes: The rod and bolt will function properly only if the print speed and quality are above average. To assemble a table with this joint, you'll need one board (which could be folded cardboard from a box, a hardcover book, a canvas, or a wood plank at least 3mm thick) and four bottles of any kind. Ensure your measurements are accurate and allow for at least 0.25mm of extra space total for an easy fit. Post-Printing Using an Odete? You now have 4 3D printed joints, assembling the table is straightforward. First, the drop-shaped bolt goes inside the board holder with its small face downwards. When it falls into place, you can slide one corner of the board inside. The second step is fitting the bottle holder into the bottles and finally, screwing the bottle holder rod into the drop-shaped nut already connected to the board, tighten it, and repeat for each corner of the board. How I Designed This Ends are Beginnings Joint It is the result of several months developing a viable, customizable solution for creating low-cost furniture, mainly for students but also for anyone who would like to recycle while creating. This project is completely open-source and we're eager to see what it will become. Enjoy!
