I'm really happy with how the touch controller grip feels, and I didn't want to mess with that. So, I avoided using a standard "cup" 3D-printed design for the bottom tether point. Instead, I came up with a cord stopper that fits perfectly into the slot where the original safety strap is mounted, just below the battery cover. It works amazingly well! Big thanks to blkhawk for hooking me up with those awesome clips on the Touch rings. The design was influenced by the Valve Index controllers' built-in stopper button. If you want to make this yourself, I used the cord and spring from a Nintendo Joy-Con Strap. You can buy Joy-Con straps for $8 each on Amazon, or at your local games store. If you're already a Switch owner, you can simply reuse one of your existing straps. Taking out the cord from the strap assembly is as simple as removing a few small Phillips screws. If you don't have a screwdriver handy, just cut the cord with scissors – you'll need to do that anyway. To keep the frayed ends tidy, I wrapped them tightly with scotch tape. Using tweezers can also help get them through all the holes.
