Oculus Rift Touch Holders

I used Gurgelx controller holders to integrate neodymium magnets and attach them to a piece of 1/2" PVC, making it more affordable. Now you can easily pop the controller out and in via the magnets. Print 2 controller bases and 1 of each controller (right and left). The total cost came out to be around $25 for all 4 pieces (it may be less if you have a hook up). Buy about 4' of 1/2" Schedule 40 PVC pipe from the hardware store. This costs around $2. Get 2 elbows and 2 caps, which should cost around $1.50. Buy these pipe clamps; they work specifically with the controller bases (make sure to get the #0 ones). They cost $2.65 each. I also found that a 1/4" nut for each clamp helps bolt it on really tight and sturdy. These magnets work great, costing around $8.50 (you can skip them and just glue the pieces together, slipping the controllers in and out of the holders - similar to Gurgelx' version). If the link dies, you can find these 1.26" x 1/8" neodymium magnets. You'll need a total of 4 of them. The total cost comes out to be around $40 (unless you can 3D print yourself, then it's way cheaper). Optional: screw an eye hook into the PVC elbow and use a single point harness, which costs around $5 on eBay.
