Oculus Rift Camera Sensor Mounts

Updated

I've added a new version of the RS00 Flat sensor mount.I found that if I wanted to take the camera off the wall I had to spin it around and around..... so I've fixed that by making the screw fit into a knob that you can turn by hand to wind the sensor on and off without having to rotate the sensor. I haven't printed it for myself yet but it was a simple upgrade to the model... I can't see there being any problems.

Hi all..

I've just whipped up some Oculus Rift Sensor camera mounts.

Okay, so how this works... There are a couple of variants. I've labelled them like so;

RS00 is a flat mount for mounting on a flat wall. The RS = Rift Sensor and 00 is 0 Degree i.e. flat.

RS90 is a Corner mount which is intended to fit in the 90 degree bend of a corner of two walls.. This one comes with a flat and a magnet insert variant. Use either Velcro or sticky pads on the flat one or optional 12mm Diameter 3mm deep magnets if you have the metal edging in the plasterboard... The cool thing with this one is that you can screw it on the wall on either edge too for different 45 angles.

All versions have optional 3mm holes for using a self tapping wall screw onto the wall if needed the extra security of strength on the wall.

Now... for the bolt... I've used a 1/4" thread x 1" long bolt.

https://www.bunnings.com.au/zenith-1-x-1-4-zp-hex-head-bolts-nuts\_p2260485

It just pushes into the back of the mount with the perfect length on the thread to completely screw the whole Rift Sensor nicely onto it.

I've printed one of each. All fits well on my wall and I'll print more for the rest of my sensors and make adjustments where needed.

Enjoy :)

Settings I used to print are in the photos.
Category: Video Games
