Oculus Rift breakout box
thingiverse
I own an Oculus Rift and hate demoing it to friends while worrying they'll yank the cable and pull my PC off the desk, so I created a 3D printed housing that works well as a breakout box when combined with high-quality 1m cables. The box is attached to my desk using strong velcro, which means if the cable gets pulled, it will likely pull the connectors out of the box rather than yanking the PC off the desk. The build process allows you to thread the cables in through the front and then simply clip them into place at the back - glue isn't necessary. This housing was designed specifically for the two cables below but could be adapted to work with most USB & HDMI cables: USB 3.0: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00C7S1B4W/ HDMI: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004VR9VXK/ Print Settings: Printer: KlicknPrint3D Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3 Infill: 15-25% works fine Notes: You can build this housing with most resolution and infill settings - I've successfully used 0.3@15% and 0.3@25%.
