Oculus Quest Controller Grip

Some Oculus Quest games require you to make gestures with your fingers. This can be awkward, since you also need to hold the controllers at the same time. This attachment makes sure the controller will stay attached to your hands (unless you shake them around too much - don't sue me if they fly off into your TV during a session of Dance Central).

Note: The Quest controller is made with very soft plastic, and printed plastics like PLA or PETG are comparatively hard. Using this will rub off the matte texture where your printed part touches your Quest controller. If you do not want this, I recommend putting some black electrical tape over the areas where the printed part touches the controller.

Feel free to make improvements by editing the attached OpenSCAD file, or by changing the STL file directly. Released as public domain.

Print instructions

Print two copies, one of them mirrored. Needs to be printed with support from build plate; prints best if it is rotated so the grip lies parallel to the build plate. See attached 3MF file.

Since this is under tension when it's installed, you might not want to print it with PLA, but with something like PETG which will retain its form under stress. Also, print with enough perimeters to make it relatively stiff.
