Oculus Quest and Rift S Controller Rebalancer
thingiverse
A major issue with the Touch 2 controllers is that they are top-heavy. This problem becomes even more pronounced when playing games like Echo Arena, as attempting to throw hard causes the controller to roll out of your hand. This makes it more difficult to achieve accurate shots. Others have solved this problem by using grips or knuckle-style straps to secure the controller in place, but these solutions are inadequate for me because the grips feel uncomfortable compared to the standard controller, and I still need to hold the controller tightly due to throwing hard. These rebalancers allow you to add weight underneath the controller, shifting its center of mass downward. This lowers it enough to make the controllers feel more like their original counterparts, which were not top-heavy at all since the ring was located underneath. I used a screw and some nuts for this purpose, but you can use whatever materials you prefer as long as they make the controller feel most comfortable for you. If you are right-handed, attach the rebalancer to your right controller on its right side. If you are left-handed, mirror the design and attach it to the left side of the left controller. Make sure it presses up against the flat part of the controller face; otherwise, the balance will feel off. It should clip securely without further modification, but applying a thin layer of hot glue to the thin parts can ensure its stability. The curved shape ensures that your index and middle fingers do not come into contact with it during normal gameplay, but your middle finger may brush against it if you extend it. Additionally, there is a risk of smashing into your finger if you throw hard enough, so be cautious. The rebalancer is attached by a small plastic clip, which can break off if you whip the controller around aggressively. I feel safe using this design, but I do not recommend it for those who are concerned about its durability.
