UPDATED 2-29-2024: Version 3!The Quest 3 Hand-Controllers have EIGHT IR Transmitters in each Hand Controller. The Version 3 "Serenity Quest 3 Rifle Stock" has cutouts that allow ALL of the IR Transmitters to function properly during game play!A LOT of the silicon knuckle-strap hand-controller covers that were sold when the Quest-3 came out DO NOT have proper cutouts for all eight IR Transmitters! Rifle Stock designers aren't accounting for the lower IR Transmitters in the Q3 hand-controllers. We've tested the V3 "IR Cutout" design for over a month now, and it works MUCH better! MUCH more precise weapons control, etc.ALL of the IR Transmitters are important since the Q3 detects hand-controller/hand positions in a much different way, and with fewer IR Transmitters, than the Q2 had.Version 2 "Works", but Version 3 works MUCH better! If you bought the "AMVR Upgraded Controller Grips" (Available at Amazon) you should be fine. The Kiwi (etc) Controller Covers don't have several of the cutouts in the proper places. You can use an older video camera to see the IR Transmitters in the Hand Controllers lit up when using them, to make sure the IR Holes are in the proper places (The newer iPhone cameras have an IR filter and won't show the IR Transmitters)You can use 8mm O.D. Aluminum Pipes for the Forestock AND Buttstock if you wish, although 7mm O.D. Aluminum Pipe is slightly lighter if you can get it in your area. You may have to warm the rear Pipe Sockets a bit as you put the 8mm Pipe in, but depending on your printer, it'll just fit "Snugly", whereas 7mm Pipe will be a touch loose until you tighten down your bolts/nuts.Seriously, use PLA+ (PLUS) filament when printing. The new Hand-Controller Cup and Forestock files have some Pre-Supports built in, but Light Tree Supports "Touching Build Plate" never hurt.Use a heat gun or Bic lighter to warm the areas around pipes and snug your nuts/bolts down tight. Nothing should "wiggle around".Version 2 of the popular "Serenity Quest 3 Rifle Stock"...Hand-Controller's battery door is accessible without removing Hand Controller.New "Tie Down Stud" (fits inside the battery compartment and is used to lock the Hand Controller into the Hand-Controller Cup SOLIDLY with a small zip-tie)Better angle for Aluminum Pipes.. Aligns Gaming Sights to better imitate your natural Point Of Aim.(Thanks to "ChuChu_TAYNE" for pointing out that it works on the Quest-2 Hand Controllers also...)The stock is light enough to just leave on your right Quest-3 hand-controller. It doesn't get in the way of grabbing loot and climbing or using a sword, etc.Sorry the pics make the current V2 Stock look "beat up", but the stocks actually get USED for 3 hours per night, EVERY night, in "Population:One" and "Breachers".There are currently 15 people in our Gaming Group that use either the Quest-3 Version 1 Stock (Found Here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6267868), or this new Version 2 Stock, every night.(BTW, Our "Quest-2 Rifle Stock" can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6029933)Parts Needed:300mm (approx 12 Inches) of 7mm O.D. x 5mm I.D. Aluminum Pipe (Amazon)127mm-152mm (approx. 5-6 Inches) of 8mm O.D. x 5mm I.D. Aluminum Pipe (Amazon, Again.. But you CAN use the 7mm O.D. x 5mm I.D. pipe for the Forestock also if you don't mind warming up the filament around the pipe holes so you can tighten the M3 Nuts/Bolt TIGHTLY... Using 7mm Pipe for both the Buttstock AND Forestock will save you some money since the 7mm pipe comes in boxes of 4 pipes ;)4 M3 Nuts/Bolts/WashersEasy Peasy! ;)(Apologies to the designer of the tiny wrist strap stud for the Quest-3 that I modified to use zip-ties, but I CAN NOT find it again... when I do I will link it here!!UPDATE: Found it! https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6259771Thanks BoscoStixs!)
