Oculus Quest 2 - Gun Stock
thingiverse
Recently jumped into the Oculus Quest 2 and my old VRGM was not compatible. I researched a few solutions and while they were really good I was just so used to the VRGM and really grew to like having controllers to slot in that stayed stationary but were easy to pull off. This solution was pretty inexpensive since I could get everything I needed from the hardware store. I used a 2 foot 19/32" / 15mm brass tube and 8 small machine screws (I just took a piece with me to the hardware store and didn't make note on the size) This is a combined remix of 2 files. The Oculus QUEST 2 NoobTube (rifle and submachine gun grip) [ https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4632183 ]from which I repurposed the clamps and used his stocks (it's a really great stock design and the NoobTube is pretty great aswell) The second file i remixed from is Grip for Oculus Quest and Rift S Controllers [ https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4248105 ] These controller grips are super comfy and they fit both the quest 1 and quest 2. The designer did an amazing job. I increased the size of the controller cups from 100% to 102% to allow the controllers to slide in and out easily. The sides of the controller mounts are slotted to allow for the lanyard to slide in and out during play. I also had some extra carbon fiber laying around so i wrapped the tube with some gray carbon fiber which added a bit of thickness that actually made tuning and assembly a bit easier. I added a strap clip that can be placed any where on the tube you desire and just used cheap carabiner clips for key chains to connect it to a guitar strap. I also added a simple bipod to keep it upright when not using it and also acts as a nice display stand for your controllers. * UPDATE - 03/21/2021 - Modified the mounting area to make the piece more solid. - Uploaded as STL and also an OBJ. - Please note that only one side is an OBJ file, they are the same thing just mirrored. * UPDATE - 11/14/2020 - Changed out the OBJ files to STL files - Changed the Bipod from being closed to being opened with option to close using same clamp mechanism as other pieces.
