Oculus CV1 Cable Fix
thingiverse
I've managed to extend the life of my CV1 cable by making a "splint" of sorts for the part of the cable that inevitably gets a kink in it. I made tube that screws round the damaged section and immobilises it, preventing the drop in the connection when the cable is manipulated. Print 2 of the part out and you'll need 4 off M3 bolts and nuts to hold them together. Pull the kinked cable section through the loop on the side of the headband and bolt the covers round it there, that way the tension on the cable pulls the splint back into the loop and keeps its out of the way - see the pictures. Fusion360 file included if you need to edit clearances for your printer. The "clamp" sections in the tube need to be a tight fit for it to work.
