Octopus Thumb Ring Designed for Metal Casting and 3D Printing. Most rings are modelled with a US size = 8 (Diameter = 18.14mm approx.), making scaling up a breeze, especially for metal 3D printing. To ensure a proper fit, use Meshmixer, a free software from Autodesk. Import the ring and navigate to Analysis/Measure in the left menu. Choose Type: edge to edge and Direction: outward (n), with Snapping mode set to Snap to Vertices. Click on the inner diameter of the ring, and a red line will appear along with a reading on the right side. To scale up, go to Edit/Transform and increase any size value, making sure Uniform Scaling is checked. Repeat the measuring process until you achieve your desired finger size. Export the model as STL Binary Format for optimal results. All published models are sold for personal use only; contact me if you wish to purchase a model for commercial purposes.
