Octopus - Fully Articulated

Octopus - Fully Articulated

thingiverse

This is a fully articulated octopus that can be printed as one seamless unit. I highly recommend printing the tentacles at 100% infill to minimize print time, and an alternative two-piece version is also available for your convenience. The head can be printed with a relatively low 10% infill setting and then attached securely using a #6 x 3/4 flat head wood screw into a precisely aligned hole. An optional pin can be inserted during assembly to prevent the head from rotating unexpectedly. Some users may experience sticky joints, which can be easily resolved by gently prying them apart and working them back and forth until they loosen up smoothly. If one of the joints appears fused solidly in place, you can try placing it firmly on a hard surface and giving it a gentle tap to dislodge any excess material that's causing the issue. I have also taken the liberty of adding custom supports at the tips of each tentacle, which should be carefully removed after printing.
