You can print one of these objects, stick it on top of a pencil and rotate it when writing becomes a chore. Another purpose of this object is to showcase basic subtractive geometry, loops that position objects through transition, rotation and a little bit of math, and the use of parameters. This thing was created with BlocksCAD, a visual programming environment for creating 3D objects, essentially an OpenSCAD designed for kids who might become interested in learning how to program. Today, many kids are familiar with Scratch and should be able to quickly learn this Blockly-based environment. This object is almost fully parametrized, meaning one can generate several variants by modifying initial variable settings (N petals, hub dimensions, petal length, width, height, etc.). Remove the hull if you want to see how a bunch of little cubes define a shape. To play with the code at BlocksCAD: download the .xml file and load it at https://www.blockscad3d.com/editor or clone from https://www.blockscad3d.com/community/projects/249385. Then, parametrize to your liking. Alternatively, you can use the Customizer here or play with the OpenSCAD source code generated from BlocksCAD.
