Octopus Book Ends

Octopus Book Ends

Trying a fresh approach. Octopus bookend - yet the tentacles appear to emerge from the sides of the books and slide back into place. All components are detachable, with the largest being the central body - every aspect related to the octopus will require additional support, while the holders can be printed flat on the build plate. All parts must be assembled together using glue in their designated holes. My plan is to print only the octopus and attach it to acrylic sheets (bonded together to form an L that serves as the actual holding mechanism for the books) and if you intend to follow a similar approach with wood or other materials, there's a file named maintentacleholder - this would need to be printed and attached with glue, allowing you to skip printing the fullend files (fullend1,2,bottom1,bottom2). These are intended for those who prefer to print the entire bookend without using alternative materials; in such cases, there's no need to print the maintentacleholder file as it's already included in fullend1. In the rendered images, an L-bracket supporting the books is noticeably absent.
