I've been eager to create this design for quite some time. Thanks go to Gina Häußge for keeping the RepRap ideals alive by making OctoPrint freely available for anyone to use. A special thank you is owed to Janina Himmen (@ZwergimBikini on Twitter) for crafting the design. Print Settings Printer: King size Prusa Mendel I2 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: High resolution recommended Notes: I printed the dual extrusion one with ooze shield. Calibrating my machine still needs a lot of work. Enlarge the size by X2 for better results. For dual extrusion, use an ooze shield. Supports are essential even with all models. How I Designed This Using Blender 2.76a Multiple spheres were used to create the octopus and crystal ball. A cube was used to form the tongue. A cylinder formed the base of the crystal ball. Modifiers Used: Subdivision Surface Mirror Boolean - Union A two-color version is coming after the test print. Custom Section Support OctoPrint OctoPrint is free for everyone, but support is needed to keep it available.
