Octoprint monitor Station Faceplates
thingiverse
Was looking for an easy way to label the octoprint instances on the octoprint monitors since it's printed flat on its face. I remixed up a Triple Station last night, and you can check out Qrome's original post for all the details on how to get started with Octoprint Monitor. Embossing the station front didn't work well, and my handwriting is horrible, so markers were not an option. P-Touch printed labels are great but in this instance a bit cheesy. I was going to fire up the vinyl cutter, but hit upon this idea. Sliced off the faces of the Single Double and Triple stations and simply extruded them 1mm thick - more than enough to emboss / cutout any type of lettering and add some extra color and pizzazz to Qrome's excellent station model with a different colored face. This worked well, but it needed something more, so I modeled up a version of the Octoprint mascot (See Octoprint Monitor Front Cover) and went down a rabbit hole and created a cover for the front of the single station. I added a part of this model to each of the station faceplates and came up with these. Attached are blank faceplates for the Octoprint monitor stations. You can print in another color, add your own text. I've printed it in two colors (White PLA then Green PLA) pausing the print via gcode at layer 6 for the color change. Gcode has many different flavors, but research - M300 ; Ring Buzzer - M400 ; Wait for moves to finish - M25 ; Pause Print to create a filament change routine for your specific printer. I've added a bit more color with my Pablos Paint Markers for the eyes and tongue. I've attached this one with a few spots of hot glue for easy removal, but any adhesive solution would work. If you enjoy it and want to buy me a cup of coffee: Paypal me, cheers!
