OctoPrint Control Panel
thingiverse
I wanted a little control panel mounted on my CR-6 that showed print status, ETA and other metrics from the print, printer and Octopi system. This leverages off-the-shelf protoboard, an inexpensive OLED screen and some simple tactile buttons plus a compliant print to wrap it all up in a tidy package that slides on to the 4040 extrusion right next to where my Pi is mounted. Other designs I've seen for an Octoprint OLED screen all used an ESP8266 to remotely monitor the print. Those are cool looking and I love the ESP line of chips, but I really wanted something directly connected so it could get immediate events and feedback, as well as act as a pause and cancel control. This pairs with an OctoPrint plugin, [available on my Github](https://github.com/sethvoltz/OctoPrint-DisplayPanel) **Check out a demo here** [![Screenshot of demo video](https://img.youtube.com/vi/78emT1ollu4/0.jpg)](https://youtu.be/78emT1ollu4 "Click here to watch a demo on YouTube") I've been using this for about a week before posting to see if I needed any tweaks and it's pretty great right now. I'll publish updates if I rev this to Mk3.
