OctoPi Housing
thingiverse
I wanted a Raspberry Pi 3B Case, which also can hold a Stepdown-Power Converter. And it only needs opening for the LAN and USBs of course and the camera flat cable. Therefore i combined following designs with some modifications. For the case i use the design from lukas1799 on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3330845 as it has no "bric-a-brac". Then i combined it with the brilliant mounting idea from G0rki on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3293019 from which i use only the holder. My case is longer and wider and has the holes for fitting on the holder (instead of being mount on one top frame corner), some cooling break outs and a hole for the camera cable which has not to be contrived through the lid and therfore you can remove the lid by simply pushing up without unplugging the camera cable. I shortened the holder a little and mirrored it that it goes to the lower left side of the Mega-S (original was at right side). Beside the Pi i bought this Step-Down-Converter: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B087JKFJTS which has space in the case and will be connected to the 12V of the printers PSU with my own Switch and Connector Box: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4686873 As the camera cable is stiff enough i don't need the Cable Clip Guide any longer from my design of the Moving Raspberry Cam Housing https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4681087 I included 3 different Lids: + Circle Thats the one i use + Slits If you like slit form holes more than circles.... + Closed If you want to desgin your own lid DON'T USE THIS CLOSED ONE IN PRODUCTION AS YOUR PI COULD OVERHEAT!!! **UPDATE DECEMBER 21st, 2020** I increased the height of all 3 lids to give more "air" to the Pi. Although i had no problems so far with my Pi and installed heat sinks (!)...you never know.
