OctOLED - remote display for OctoPrint
thingiverse
Human: OctOLED is a remote mini display (SSD1306 128x64 OLED) showing the status of OctoPrint via WiFi on ESP8266. The motivation behind this project was that my printer is situated behind me and I often lack space to have an open card with the OctoPrint website to monitor print progress. This solution works flawlessly, allowing easy access to current progress bars and printer temperature status at all times. To achieve a sleek design, I placed the display in the upper part of the casing and the ESP8266 stand below it, creating a cable tunnel between them. # Required Parts - 1x ESP8266 (I used NodeMCU v2) - 1x SSD1306 (OLED 128x64 display) - 4x Wire F-F 20cm (I used 40 from Nettigo) - 1x MicroUSB charger for powering the project # Module Programming The ESP8266 module code and connection scheme are available on my GitHub project. # Video in Action You can see this project in action on YouTube.
