Octo4A Phone Holder
thingiverse
I was having issues with my Raspberry Pi 3B+ serial connection. Everytime I went to use the system it would seem fine but usually report a Communication Error, just before the print started or just after the effector came down and was about to start printing. So I decided to try Octo4A on an old Huawei P30 lite we weren't using. Took a while for Octo to install, but once it did and got the camera setup, and Octo with all the plugins I had before, I just needed to make a holder for the phone. So... Tada! I designed all the arms and Phone cradle, as well as the extrusion mount and borrowed the M3 T-nuts from DaVinci2000... https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3050607 I used a pen spring for tension to hold the phone in place and also a bit of the blue wall poster putty on one side of the grip, to keep the phone from sliding down. Originally I thought it would be fine on it's own, but the weight of the phone required a stilt to hold the arm up, so I made one of those too. For your purposes, you may need to make one that works for your printer. I just used some spare 3/16" & 5/32" machine bolts I had lying around to assemble most of the arm, and a 5mm countersink machine bolt to mount the phone holder. Countersink so it wouldn't interfere with the spring. Let me know if you have any questions
