Octo Magnetz... the Ultimate Fridge Magnet!

Octo Magnetz are ultimate fridge magnets, boasting eight multi-jointed moving tentacles, each equipped with a magnet at the end to securely fasten notes, photos, and more. This easy-to-print design creates a fun, practical, and highly functional solution for everyday use in the home, office, or workshop. They also make great gifts and can be printed in your preferred color. To complete this project, you'll need suitable size magnets and strong glue to secure them into place. Please refer to the post-print instructions and images for additional information. The standard scale Octo Magnetz measures 179mm wide by 13mm deep, so build plates must be at least this size or larger to print this design successfully. Scaling down is not recommended as it will compromise the joint clearances designed into the moving tentacles, requiring smaller magnets that may not be strong enough to hold thicker pieces of paper or card. Here are the recommended print settings: * Printer Brand: MakerBot * Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 * Rafts: Yes * Supports: No * Resolution: Standard / 0.20mm * Infill: 3 Shells / 20% infill recommended When printing, please note the following: * Use a raft for safe and easy removal of the print from the build plate. * Do not use any supports as this may cause the tentacle joints to become solid. * Be patient and take care when removing the raft to avoid damaging the joint clearances. With a well-set-up machine, the raft should remove cleanly, and the joint should move freely immediately after removal. To ensure durability in use, it's suggested to use 3 shells and 20-25% infill. To complete your Octo Magnet, you'll need: * 9 x magnets with up to 12mm diameter and approximately 3mm height * 1 x magnet with up to 20mm diameter and approximately 3mm height All magnets should be the same height. Suitable magnets can be found at hardware, craft, or electronics stores. Glue the magnets into the recesses on the underside using strong glue. Once the glue has dried, your Octo Magnet will be ready for use. Make sure to find reasonably strong magnets that can secure thick paper or light card.
