This Octave Systems spool holder works perfectly, also compatible with MakerBot spools when you create this additional design: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:29101. It was designed using TinkerCAD and can be edited for personal use at https://tinkercad.com/things/7GAviE15YXW?display=gyEp5cLI69E. To install, print it and attach it with bolts; it's recommended to print in a horizontal orientation. Tested on an Up! printer in "fast" mode with loose fill, resulting in a smooth and strong holder, regardless of the round side position.
